I am in a community service club at school and one thing I do is teach english to spanish speaking immigrants?

Last week was my first week and it went okay but i didnt really know what to expect ahead of time. next week i hope to be more prepared so i am asking for your help. we are supposed to do categories each week and next is communicating with your childs school. there are mothers&fathers in there who wish to talk to their childrens teachers. what are some important things you would ask at a conference? verbs, phrases, subjects, anything etc. you would need to know. i dont need you to give me the translations, just the english. also what ways are there to help reinforce learning the language of fun/easy ways to learn it. any ESL techniques, explaining the structure of an english sentence? thank you so much for your help, i really want to be able to teach them to the best i can.
