If tommy atkins is the nickname of a british soldier, what is the nickname of a british sailor?

Limey would be the term for British sailors. They were called that because British sailors would drink lime juice in order to prevent scurvy. Scurvy is caused by vitamin C deficiency, and can be prevented by having 10 milligrams of vitamin C a day. The British prefer limes over lemons because limes were more readily available from Britain's own Caribbean colonies.
