Ares Not Connecting To the Internet?

Okay so I have had Ares for about 3 years and all of the sudden, it refuses to connect. On top it constantly says "Connecting" but it never actually connects. The homepage shows up fine, I just cannot search for anything. When I search it just says searching for a long time until it finally says "search finished with no result". I have an exception for Ares in my firewall, I have the latest version, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling six times and have fiddled with the settings in the control panel countless times. I do not want any other software, I would like to keep Ares. Can anyone help? Thanks!
