We have an lpg boiler,,thats not igniting when i put the heating on,,but?

but our landlord says hes gonna come out tomorrow and this other man is gonna talk him through something on it to see if that works first before paying out for a qualified corgi man to fix it..now my hubbys away and im here alone with my five children and im abit bothered as to whether to allow this. Is it illigal for my landlord to do this?? I understand it could be expensive for my landlord...but i dont know my rights...i worry about carbon monoxide poisoning.if he fixes it but not properley...any advice i would welcome...many thanx zoe
